Sacraments
St. Leo the Great: “Our Redeemer’s visible presence has passed into the sacraments.”
Baptism
At St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, we’re honored to walk with families as they prepare for their child’s baptism. To begin, parents should contact our parish office to schedule the baptism—ideally before the child is born or shortly thereafter. We’ll guide you through a baptismal preparation class. If you’re not a registered member of St. Francis Xavier, we ask that you either register or provide a letter of permission from your home parish.
We’re here to support you every step of the way as you welcome your child into the life of grace and the Catholic community.
Confirmation
We’re deeply committed to helping young people prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation—a powerful step in their faith journey. The process begins in the fall of their eighth-grade year with a Parent/Teen Kick-off Meeting, followed by a series of retreats, formation sessions, and service opportunities. Candidates must submit key documents throughout the year, including a Baptismal Certificate, Sponsor Eligibility Form, and Saint Name Form. Sponsors must be practicing Catholics in good standing and will participate in activities alongside the candidate. All requirements must be completed by mid-April, with the Confirmation Mass typically held later that month.
Weddings
Congratulations on your engagement! We’re delighted you’re considering celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage with us. To begin the process, couples should contact the parish office at least six to nine months in advance of their desired wedding date. This allows time for meaningful preparation which includes meeting with our parish priest and attending marriage classes. You’ll also need to submit prenuptial forms, witness affidavits of free status, and obtain a marriage license. Once these steps are completed and a presider is confirmed, we’ll help you plan a joyful, prayerful celebration that reflects the sacredness of your commitment.
End of Life Services
When a loved one passes, we help families plan Catholic end-of-life services with care and compassion. The funeral home usually contacts us to begin arrangements, but families may reach out directly. The process includes a vigil, Funeral Mass, and cemetery committal. Our Consolation Apostolate assists with selecting readings, music, and roles for the liturgy. Whether the body or cremated remains are present, we ensure a reverent, faith-filled farewell rooted in the hope of eternal life.
